What Will You Do?

The primary function of the Sales Engineer is to communicate and coordinate with our customers, Regional Sales Managers (RSM’s), Sales Representatives and our Engineering and Purchasing teams on day-to-day activities regarding quotations, orders, delivery schedules, designs, and applications. The Sales Engineer will research and develop plans and design mechanical, electrical and electromechanical products and systems based on information provided by our customers. This position may have assigned accounts that will require the Sales Engineer to be the main point of contact for Zero Zone. The following are the essential duties and responsibilities you can expect to do:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively communicate with internal and external customers about project requirements
• Thoroughly document all project-related communications
• Extensive customer interface (internal and external customers)
• Evaluate customer specifications, drawings and prepare customer quotation, proposal change orders, etc.
• Design refrigeration mechanical and electrical equipment by selecting components to meet system requirements based on quality, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency and competitiveness for refrigeration systems, ice arenas, and electrical distribution systems
• Coordinate preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics with Engineering/Drafting and Production teams
• Thoroughly transfer information from the Sales Department to Engineering when an order is received
• Be the liaison between Production/Engineering and the customer
• Follow-up with customers after installation and occasionally visit job site at time of startup.
• Coordinate with the customer, Sales Representative, RSM’s and Service Department on warranty concerns
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Communicate with production team to build systems according to specifications and assist coordinating manufacturing activities through Engineering to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications
• Evaluate equipment during manufacturing process and recommend design modifications as necessary
• Provide proper documentation of all conversations and decisions with customers, contractors, RSM’s, Sales Reps, and Service pertaining to equipment orders and proposals from conception through and after delivery and start-up
• Ensure invoicing documents are clear and accurate
• Other duties may be assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
• Two (2) plus years of related experience in a refrigeration environment is preferred
• Previous experience with supermarket and industrial refrigeration system knowledge required
• Experience working in a business system (ERP) is preferred
• High working knowledge of MS Office : Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Highly organized and detail oriented individual
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Self-starter, motivated, and strong willed who works independently or as a leader
